Pricing models
Every product in your catalog is assigned a pricing model. The model determines how the line is priced, how it contributes to recurring revenue, and how it flows into your CRM and billing system. Mix models freely within a single quote — a platform fee plus usage pricing plus a one-time implementation fee is an ordinary deal in Dealops.
Supported models
| Model | How it works | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Consumption | Per-unit price × usage volume | $0.05 per API call |
| Consumption + Overage | Committed volume at one rate, overage beyond it at another | 10M calls committed at $0.05; overage at $0.07 |
| Seats | Per-user pricing | $99 per user per month |
| Outcome | Priced on a business outcome or value metric | 2.5% of transaction value processed |
| Flat Fee Recurring | Fixed periodic charge | $5,000/month platform fee |
| Flat Fee One Time | Single non-recurring charge | $25,000 implementation fee |
| Flat + Percent | Fixed fee plus a percentage component | $10k/month base + 1.5% of processed volume |
| Max(Flat Fee, % Revenue) | The greater of a flat fee or a percentage | Greater of $50k/year or 2% of revenue |
| Other | Bespoke structures that don't fit the above | Custom-negotiated schedules |
How models behave in a quote
A few properties follow from the model and keep your metrics honest automatically:
- Recurring vs. one-time. Recurring models contribute to ARR and renewal baselines; one-time fees count toward year-one value only and are excluded from renewal seeding.
- Per-unit vs. per-period billing. Consumption, seats, and outcome models price per unit; flat fees price per billing period (monthly, annually, or a fixed schedule).
- Minimum-commitment participation. Your catalog controls which products count toward minimums and commitments — usage lines typically do; seat licenses and platform fees typically don't.
- Proration. First and last partial months can bill as full months or prorate by day, configured per product.
Composing models
Real deals combine models. A typical usage-based enterprise agreement:
| Line | Model | Structure |
|---|---|---|
| Platform fee | Flat Fee Recurring | $4,000/month, ramping up each year |
| API usage | Consumption + Overage | Tiered rates against a committed volume |
| Premium support | Seats | $500/user/month |
| Onboarding | Flat Fee One Time | $20,000, year one only |
| Annual minimum | — | $300k floor across usage lines — see Commitments & minimums |
Each line keeps its own model, billing frequency, and approval rules, while the deal summary rolls everything up into TCV, ARR, and a year-by-year view.
Where models come from
Pricing models are set per product in your catalog by your Dealops admins — reps don't choose models at quote time, they configure volumes and prices within the structure the catalog defines. See the Product catalog overview.
